In my work, I address social, political, economic, and cultural issues, examining reality from a decolonial perspective of the Latin American individual. I explore collective patterns that often defy logic, highlighting the contrast between natural beauty and the horrors of war in Colombia, my home country. My childhood was shaped by the splendor of the tropical rainforests in the Choco biogeographic region and the rich intercultural heritage of the Emberá Chami culture, elements that have deeply influenced my artistic vision.

The duality in my work arises from the contrast between my experiences in nature and my understanding of urban life. The disillusionment caused by social distrust, animal exploitation, and environmental pollution drives me to question the relationship between the internal world and external reality. My goal is to raise awareness about the world we will leave for future generations.

My work reflects a range of emotions and feelings, such as joy, sadness, anger, and fear, capturing deep and lasting sentiments like nostalgia and hope. In my practice, I use visual metaphors to challenge perception and narrate events that often go unnoticed.

I contemplate, construct, and reimagine objects that undergo metamorphosis, using various materials, including luminous and transparent ones. For example, in the series "Internal Conflict, 2023," I use war imagery and figures of children in a context of violent symbols versus the innocence and transparency of a child. This exploration of themes and techniques is tangible; my quest for internal understanding becomes the foundation for artistic experimentation.
